Somebody Stop The World

I found this poem this morning, and it explains right where I am this morning.
Anyone who has had a loved one with Cancer will be able to relate!

Somebody stop the world,
I want to go back.
I want to go back ,
Before cancer Turned our world upside down.
I want to go back
this wasn't supposed to happen to us,
not to you .
I want to go back ,
To our carefree days
And future plans.
I want to go back
before doctors and chemo
and losing your hair
I want to go back,
When you were so strong
You seemed invincible
I want to go back,
When I didn't cry every day
for fear of losing you.
I want to go back ,
To where people didn't avoid me
Because they don't know what to say.
I want to go back ,
To when we still had forever
And weren't living on borrowed time.
I want to go back ,
To a point in my lifeI wasn't so angry with God.
It wasn't that long ago,
Though it seems like forever
Somebody stop the world,
I want to go back........

My mother used to say this to me when I was a kid! No wait, it was "Stop the world, I wanna get off."

I'm coming over from Blog Stalkers Unite, asking for your help. I am in the running for a round trip airfare paid ticket to Connecticut, to meet a friend I became acquainted with through blogging. She is a super fun person and is holding this contest. I entered a funny story titled "Grapejuice Floaties, Now Marry Me." The person whose story receives the most votes will win a trip to meet this generous lady, whom I'm hoping to meet. The voting ends tonight I believe. I am ahead for now but there is a story coming up from behind out of nowhere and I would so, so, appreciate your help. Her blog is www.becausemomsaidso.blogspopt.com and the voting is on the sidebar on the right. "Grapejuice, Floaties" Just go there and cast a vote for me, please. Thanks so much-you're awesome! ♥

Soooo very sorry to hear about your brother. Do you mind if I ask what type of cancer he has and for how long. I do check in on your wonderful website, but it is difficult to remember everything I read. I prayer for a miracle for your brother and yes, it does happen!
I agree that the poem "Somebocy Stop the World" is truly from the heart. She also has another one posted as well a little further down the blog "what They Don't See" and that certainly depicts How all of us caregivers feel when loved ones have cancer. I hope others post comments on her website for encouragement and support at this difficult time.
Loved your slideshow as well and you can bet I will check it out in detail and make one for my blog....I'm a copycat....what can I say!
Thinking of you all and God Bless!
